Episode 006 Getting SMARTER with Kym Fasczewski, PhD

If you enjoy the podcast and want to help support it financially, you can do so through my GoFundMe account.  The money will be used for equipment and web hosting fees.  I will give you a shout out in a future episode.

Dr. Kym Fasczewski from Appalachian State University and I discuss goal setting.  Kym has a PhD with an emphasis in sport psychology and is a cycling coach.  Listen in to hear what makes goal setting SMARTER.

She points out that people are good at setting vague goals like being the best.  In personal training I ran across folks who wanted to get "fit" whatever that means.

We discuss outcome goals being typically of a competitive nature.  How performance goals are about standards of performance like improving running speed or power output. Process goals are about how to achieve the other goals on a daily basis like execution of skills.
